How I Crunched Wolves’ Survival Chances

Right lads, sat down with a cuppa this morning to figure out if Wolves can climb outta this mess. Started by checking their last few results first thing. Bloody grim reading. Opened the Premier League site – proper official stats, mind you – and saw just ONE win in their last five across all competitions. Home form wasn’t quite as murderous but still patchy: one win, one draw, one loss recently. Found meself thinking that League Cup win at home maybe gave ’em a tiny bit of hope? Worth clingin’ onto anyway.

Next up, had a proper look at the team news doing the rounds. Got real worried when I spotted defender Nathan Patterson’s name popping up everywhere – bloke’s out with a muscle injury. Leaves their flanks lookin’ proper weak, that does. Then it’s the forwards turnin’ invisible. Matheus Cunha couldn’t hit a barn door so far this season! How’s Pereira supposed to magic up goals if no bugger can score? Really makes you wonder.

Scratched my head wondering where any improvement might come from. Flicked through some transfer rumours – saw Hwang Hee-chan’s name pop up for someone wanting to loan him out?! How daft is that when he’s actually been not terrible? Scored two goals and made one assist in three recent games – he’s about the only spark they got! Then I read some bits about them refusing offers for their players like Larsen while huntin’ for signings themselves – seems a right muddle goin’ on behind the scenes.

Lastly, stuck their next few fixtures on my second screen. Oh boy. Newcastle away? Nasty. Then Leeds at home – a must-win if ever there was one. Then Spurs away? Christ. The fixture list is givin’ ’em zero favours. That home Leeds game feels like the whole season depending on how it goes.

So after all that digging? Nah, I ain’t seeing a rapid rise anytime soon. The injuries are nasty, the goals ain’t flowin’, and they’re lookin’ flaky at the back after gettin’ spanked 4-0 by Man City. Plus they got that tough run of games ahead. Reckon they need to scrape and fight just to stay up, forget climbin’ much higher right now. Gut feel says survival has to be the only goal – forgettin’ the standings climb for a good while yet. Gonna be a proper slog lads. Need some serious fight now.
