So last night I was scrolling Twitter when this name popped up: Guillermo Martínez Ayala. Had zero clue who he was. Figured maybe a soccer player or politician? My curiosity got the best of me – had to Google it immediately.
First searches came up dry. Saw some Spanish articles mentioning “Récord Mundial” but my high school Spanish failed me. Switched to English results and bam! Guinness World Records page appeared. Turns out this dude has the world’s biggest feet – like comically huge size 26 shoes. Mind blown! Thought my size 11s were annoying to shop for…
Dug deeper into the facts:
- His feet measure 41.2cm long – that’s longer than a newborn baby!
- Doctors found it’s actually a symptom of a condition called Macrodystrophia Lipomatosa
- He needs custom-made shoes that cost $3,500 a pop
- Worked at a fireworks factory before the record fame
Reminded me of my cousin’s insane shoe drama last summer. His giant feet meant we had to special order bowling shoes for his bachelor party. Place wanted $200 just to rent custom shoes! We ended up wrapping duct tape around his socks like makeshift boots. Everyone died laughing when he bowled a strike barefoot. Security kicked us out but damn – best memory ever.
