So last night I caught the Real Madrid vs Rayo Vallecano match live at the Bernabéu. Wanted to track every goal moment properly cause my football buddies always ask me “who scored and when exactly?” Grabbed my notebook and phone before kickoff – old school and digital backup, you know?
First Half Setup
Plugged my power bank to keep the phone alive through extra time. Opened a fresh notes page with timestamps turned on. Also had ESPN’s live stats tab open on my tablet just in case I blinked and missed something. Announcers talk too damn fast sometimes.
Kickoff to Halftime
The moment Kroos took that corner in the 3rd minute, I jammed my pen down hard – Carvajal’s header! Wrote “3′ CARVAJAL” in all caps while checking replay angles. Almost missed Rayo’s equalizer 35 minutes later cause I was refilling my beer. Thank god for DVR rewind – confirmed it was Camello at 35′ after seeing his celebration close-up.

Second Half Drama
Stadium went nuts when Militão headed it in at 55′ but I saw the linesman’s flag immediately. Crossed out “GOAL” and wrote “VAR CHECK” instead. My phone nearly died when Rodrygo started that solo run at 89′ – was typing “89′ RODRYGO RIGHT FOOT” with shaky hands while people screamed around me. Confirmed assist was Valverde’s cross during the replay break.
Final Whistle Wrap-up
Triple-checked all timestamps against official stats after the 1-1 draw. Fixed Rodrygo’s goal to 89th minute instead of 90 where I first wrote it. Added yellow card notes for Carvajal (27′) and Ciss (41′) cause my buddy bet on bookings. Sent the full list to our WhatsApp group before midnight – screenshots of my messy notes got more likes than the clean typed version!
Honestly thought Benz would net one tonight. Might rewatch that 72nd minute chance tomorrow to see why he fluffed it.
