Alright so yesterday I wanted to check where Real Betis stands against Real Madrid this season. Not just guessing, but real numbers. Grabbed my coffee and opened my laptop around 9 AM, still in pajamas honestly.
First Attempt Was Messy
Typed “football standings” into Google. Got flooded with trash sites asking for signups or showing last season’s stats. One page made me close 5 pop-up ads before seeing anything – ridiculous. Found one table but the points column looked wrong for Real Betis. Like they added losses wrong or something.
Switching Tactics
Remembered La Liga’s official stuff usually works better. Went directly to their page – took forever to find the actual standings section. They buried it under “Statistics > Competition > Tables” – three clicks deep! Finally saw the table but… no filter option. Had to scroll manually hunting for both teams like some treasure hunt. Annoying as hell.
The Workaround
Said screw it – opened spreadsheet software. Made two columns: Team Names and Points. Manually typed top 10 teams from La Liga site while double-checking each club’s points from three different sources. Caught discrepancies for two teams – one site showed Girona with 75 points while others said 74. Went with official league numbers after 20 minutes of cross-referencing like a detective.
Final proof:
- Real Madrid: 95 points (obviously top)
- Real Betis: 57 points – middle table
Whole thing ate 40 minutes of my morning. Official sites should just have a “compare two teams” button instead of making fans play hide-and-seek with data. Next time I’ll probably just text my buddy Diego who memorizes this stuff like a walking encyclopedia.
