Alright, so today I wanted to share how I tackled predicting the lineups for that massive Bayern Munich versus Bayer Leverkusen clash. Feels like the whole Bundesliga hinges on this one, yeah?
First thing this morning, I grabbed my laptop and plonked myself down at the kitchen table – coffee’s a must, obviously. Fired up the usual news sites and checked the latest. Had like five tabs open at once – club sites, sports news, some fan forums buzzing. Had to see who got knocks or aches.
The Bayern Puzzle
Right, Munich first. Big question: Davies. Pulled up that injury report I saw yesterday. Hamstring thing still had him listed as doubtful. Thought: “If he’s out, that shapes the whole left side.” Who’d step in? Scrolled through news snippets. Choupo-Moting was totally out, already knew that. Then checked Tuchel’s past couple pressers – listened back to the audio recordings. Noticed he kept dropping hints about trusting Musiala deeper. And Sane? Mentioned how sharp he looked.
- Started scribbling notes: Kim at the back
- Ulreich confirmed in goal
- Musiala playing kind of withdrawn
- Up top? Kane’s a lock, obviously
Then the Leverkusen Side
Switched gears to Leverkusen. Xabi Alonso’s squad is rolling right now. Key here: Wirtz. Reports were everywhere. Seems he was training but folks were whispering “don’t push him.” Weird vibe. Dug into some local German articles translated ’em roughly. Big feeling they’d bench him at the start to manage him. Granit Xhaka? Solid as rock in the middle. Tapsoba? News said he was definitely starting. Scanned twitter feeds from folks at their training grounds – grainy videos and such.

Putting It Together
By lunchtime, my little notebook was a total scribble of arrows and crossed-out names. Looked like this:
- Bayern: Ulreich; Kim, Upamecano, Davies out? Mazraoui?; Kimmich, Goretzka; Coman, Musiala dropping, Sane; Kane up top.
- Leverkusen: Hradecky; Tapsoba, Tah; Frimpong, Palacios, Xhaka, Grimaldo; Hofmann starting for Wirtz? Adli; Schick.
Thought: “Predicting Hofmann in was the gut punch.” Felt right with the buzz.
Real Talk
Here’s the funny bit though – sat down hours later to actually watch the game? Kid’s science fair volcano chose that moment to erupt – not literally, thank god, but project chaos everywhere. Missed half the first trying to mop baking soda paste off the rug. Saw Bayern’s lineup flash: Davies was starting?! Wirtz came off the bench for Leverkusen too. “What the hell, so much for hours of digging,” I muttered. Felt like half my notes were suddenly junk. Still managed to catch Musiala doing that magic drop play – at least one thing got it right. Kid got glue on my scrawled final prediction page. Total mess. Live football, eh?
