Manchester United target four top strikers this summer
Manchester United have scored just 37 goals in 29 Premier League games this season, which is 13th in the league for goals scored. Despite Rasmussen Holten’s goal against Leicester City at the weekend, ending United’s embarrassing 21-game goal drought, the team’s attacking firepower still needs to be significantly improved.
Four strikers targeted
Manchester United’s transfer department has already targeted four strikers ahead of the summer transfer window, with the aim of adding firepower to the team of head coach Ruben Amorim. The four strikers are
- Hugo Ekkelenkamp (Eintracht Frankfurt)
- Benjamin Sessekou (RB Leipzig)
- Victor Osimhen (currently on loan at Galatasaray)
- Victor Guiçó (Sporting Lisbon)

Victor Guiçó
Guiçó is considered the most viable option as he previously worked with Ruben Amorim at Sporting Lisbon. The Swedish striker has scored 40 goals and provided 10 assists in 41 games this season, helping Sporting Lisbon lead the Portuguese league. However, it is reported that Gioacres would prefer to join Liverpool, Arsenal or Manchester City rather than Manchester United.
Benjamin Sessegnon
Sessegnon is also a good option, but the striker has already entered Arsenal’s sights. Arsenal also believes that it needs to bring in a striker in the summer, so Manchester United may face competition.
Victor Osimhen
Osimhen is a more likely signing, but his high salary could be a major obstacle for Manchester United.
Manchester United’s transfer plan
Despite the financial difficulties facing Manchester United, club co-founder Sir Jim Ratcliffe has said that the club will make appropriate investments to create a deep squad for Ruben Amorim. In addition to the striker position, Amorim is also planning to bring in more star wingers. This season, Manchester United has already loaned Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Anthony.
Summary
Manchester United hopes to improve the team’s offensive firepower by bringing in these four forwards. Despite financial and competitive pressures, the club remains committed to building a more competitive lineup for next season.
