Yesterday I grabbed my laptop feeling proper buzzed about Man Utd songs, so I fired up Spotify straight away. Started hunting for matchday bangers by typing “Glory Glory Man United” first. That chorus blasted through my speakers – instant goosebumps remembering last season’s comeback against City. Proper terrace anthem that one.
Building the Playlist Step by Step
Next I dug into comments on fan forums, scribbling down titles people kept shouting about. Found “We Are the Pride of All Europe” buried deep in a 2010s thread – rusty recording but still slapped hard. Then chucked on “Take Me Home, United Road” and literally stood up singing while washing dishes. Kitchen acoustics made my voice sound less rubbish!
The Live Test Run
Pumped all candidates into a playlist and invited my mate Dave over – proper diehard since ’99. Cranked the volume and timed our reactions:
- “United Road”: Dave spilled his brew air-drumming at 2:13
- “Glory Glory”: Both of us shouting “And the Reds go marching ON ON ON” like nutters
- “20 Times”: Fizzled out sadly – way too slow for pre-match buzz
Finalizing the Proper Anthems
Knocked out three tracks after Dave kept checking his phone during ’em. Final top tier went into my “Stadium Bangers” playlist ordered by energy levels:
- Top of the pile: Glory Glory (old but pure fire)
- Second: Take Me Home (newer but proper chorus power)
- Wildcard: Calypso (Dave hates it but hearing it live at OT gives chills)
Spent last night tweaking transitions so “Sing Up for the Champions” slams in right after crowd noise samples. Might annoy neighbours later testing this loudness again!
