Woke up this morning already thinking ’bout the big Liverpool-PSG match tonight. Grabbed my coffee and notebook like always. Time to guess Klopp’s starting lineup – it’s kinda become my matchday ritual. Gotta figure out who’s fit after that last game looked rough.
Starting With The Defense
Figured Virgil’s definitely playing unless his legs fall off. That man’s a wall. Partner? Probably Konaté – he’s big, strong, fast enough for those PSG forwards. Kostas on the left? Maybe. Robbo still out, right? And Trent – obviously. Gotta have his passes. Kelleher in goal, no brainer with Ali hurt. Didn’t take long to write that down.
Then the midfield… this bit’s messy. Needed another coffee. Mac Allister? Lock. He’s playing, no doubt. The guy runs everything now. But who’s next to him? Endō was tired last match. Saw him limping a bit. Thought “Jones? Maybe.” The kid’s got energy. Gravdolch then? He was decent midweek. Okay, penciled both Jones and Gravdolch in.
The Attack Puzzle
Up top is where I stared at my notebook longest. Mo Salah? Yeah. PSG hates him, he plays. Simple. Then Luis Díaz left? Explosive, works hard. That leaves the center… Gakpo? Maybe. He links play nice. Or Jota? He scored midweek… or Darwin? Chaos factor! Decided to just guess Gakpo down the middle. Didn’t feel confident though.
So my scribbled lineup looked like:
- Kelleher
- Virgil + Konaté
- Trent + Kostas
- Mac Allister, Jones, Gravdolch
Mo + Gakpo + Díaz
Looked at it. Thought “Is that midfield strong enough?” PSG’s midfielders are tricky. And Gakpo? Is he the best choice? Dunno. Maybe Jota starts instead? Or Elliot pushes Jones out? Couldn’t shake the feeling it might need tweaks.
Heard some rumors Szobo might play. Hope not. He looked dead on his feet midweek. Risking him could be bad. Need him fit later. Anyway, that’s my best guess after staring at injury reports and coffee stains all morning. Tonight we’ll see how wrong I was!
