So today I wanted to check Athletic Bilbao vs Barcelona stats before my fantasy league deadline. First, I googled “bilbao barcelona stats” like a dummy. Got flooded with news articles and ticket sellers. Total waste.
Then I remembered some sports websites might have this. Went to this big football stats place I used before. Their search was garbage though. Typed “Athletic Club” but it kept showing me rugby results. What kinda nonsense is that?
Here’s what actually worked:
- Opened that popular soccer stats database everyone uses
- Clicked “Teams” section instead of searching names
- Scrolled like mad through Spanish teams til I found Bilbao
- Saw their “Matches” tab looked promising so I hit that
- Filtered opponents to Barcelona only
- Boom! There were all past five years of results
Almost screwed myself though. The filter default was “all competitions” – had to change it to La Liga only since I needed league stats. Found out Copa games were mixed in there too at first.
The data showed crazy patterns actually. Never realized Bilbao beat Barca 3 times straight at home before yesterday’s game! Stats don’t lie huh? Still mad I didn’t bet on that.
Spent like 20 minutes clicking around like an idiot before I figured out the team section trick. Next time someone asks for footy stats, tell ’em to skip the search bar – go straight to team profiles like this. Way less headache.
