Okay so yesterday I totally forgot when that Barcelona vs Tottenham game was supposed to happen. Needed to figure it out quick ’cause my buddy was bugging me about it. Started off totally clueless, just knew the two teams were playing somewhere soon.
The Messy Search Begins
First, I grabbed my phone. Thought, “Easy, just look it up.” Went to a big search engine, you know the one. Typed in “Barcelona Tottenham time”. Bad idea. Got bombarded! Links about past games from like 2018, ticket resellers wanting crazy money, random soccer blogs talking tactics… nothing clear about when and where this specific match is actually happening. Scroll, scroll, scroll. Useless.
Trying the Apps
Gave up on the browser. Opened a couple of popular sports apps I have. Scrolled through the main pages. Premier League stuff everywhere… but this game? Nope. Then I remembered: Oh right, it’s probably a pre-season friendly, might not be top priority on those app fronts. Went hunting in the “Fixtures” sections. Took ages! Had to pick Tottenham Hotspur, scroll through their schedule. Finally! August 8th. Okay, that’s the date. But what about the time? Stuck at home screen. Clicked into the fixture. Boom! It said kickoff at 1 PM. Sweet, progress!
But then… PM what? My brain froze. PM where? The app showed times in my local timezone automatically? Or was it UK time? Or US Eastern? Total confusion. Back to square one almost. Had to double-check the fixture details carefully. Saw a small note about it being listed in my current timezone. Phew! Okay, so 1 PM for me. Where? Still needed the venue and how to watch.
Finding the Where and How to Watch
Stayed in the same fixture screen on the app. Scrolled down. Saw “Venue”. It said Camping World Stadium. Nice, in Orlando! Cool. Now, the big one: How to actually see it live. Scrolled further down. This part was annoying. Different broadcasters listed for different regions. Mine said something vague like “Available on local partners”. Useless! Didn’t tell me the channel or service.
Switched tactics. Went online again, specifically searching “How to watch Barcelona vs Tottenham in [My Country]”. Got a little closer. Found a couple of articles listing possible broadcasters. Saw suggestions like:
- Maybe check big sports channels known for soccer
- Perhaps look at streaming services with sports packages
- One site mentioned a specific channel name (but I can’t link it!)
Finally, I remembered that broadcaster’s own app. Opened it, searched for the teams. Bingo! Confirmed it was listed to air live there. Success! Only took me like half an hour of hopping between apps and websites.
The Final Notes
Learned my lesson. For future pre-season friendlies involving big teams:
- Go straight to the club’s official website schedule or trusted fixture list first.
- App fixture details are useful but double-check the timezone displayed!
- Finding the broadcaster is always the biggest pain. Need to search specifically for my region.
- Shouldn’t have wasted time on general web searches initially. Too messy.
Marked my calendar: August 8th, 1 PM my time, Camping World Stadium, watching on that broadcaster. Sorted. Phew!
