Alright lads, today I’ll walk you through how I cobbled together a proper Spurs wallpaper for my phone – proper chuffed with how it turned out! Started off proper simple: grabbed my battered laptop and fired up this free photo editing app I’ve used before. First mission? Snagging the right pics. Went hunting for crisp action shots of Sonny’s left foot rockets and big Micky van de Ven chasing down wingers like a madman.
The Image Mash-up Struggle
Dragged five player cutouts into the app – absolute nightmare getting the sizing right! Wanted Deki’s goal celebration upfront but he kept looking like a giant next to Romero’s tiny head. Zoomed out till my finger cramped trying to balance it. Pro tip: tap that “lock ratio” button or you’ll end up with stretchy distorted players like my first attempt where Porro looked like he’d been through a funhouse mirror.
Sorting the Color Disaster
Nearly chucked the whole thing when the colors went wonky. Stuck Spurs’ proper blue as the background but it looked dead gloomy against the kit. Slid the brightness up proper high then dumped in that lighter navy from our away socks. Added faint white cockerel silhouettes floating about – just set the opacity real low so it’s not in your face.
Major stuff I stuffed in:
- Massive THFC badge dead center (duh)
- “COYS” in bold letters underneath
- Faint goal net texture layered behind players
- Tottenham stadium shadows at the bottom
Export Nightmare
Went to save it and nearly screamed – looked proper pixelated like an old FIFA game! Turns out I’d resized the canvas too small early on. Went back, expanded it by 30%, dragged all elements around again, and triple-checked the export settings were max quality. Sorted now – crisp as fresh kit launch photos.
Honestly thought I’d bodge it but slapped the finished wallpaper on my phone lock screen and it looks the absolute business. Proper Spurs vibe every time I glance at it – might tweak Maddison’s position later if I cba. Give it a whirl yourselves!
