So today I figured I’d check how Chivas and América were doing this season since everyone keeps asking me about it. Grabbed my coffee first thing in morning, booted up the laptop still half asleep. Opened three different browser tabs like I always do – you know how league sites love to show different numbers sometimes.
Started with the main Liga MX page. Scrolled past all those flashy ads for jerseys and crap, finally found the standings table. Took screenshots with my phone cause I don’t trust my memory. América sitting at position 3? Damn that’s higher than last season. Scrolled down looking for Chivas… position 10? No way that’s right.
Checked another sports site while my coffee got cold. Same standings but now I see Chivas played two less games? That explains things. Wrote down:
- América: 23 points
- Chivas: 15 points
- Goal difference: +9 vs -1
Cross-referenced with that analytics site Joe recommended last month. Took forever to load as usual. Got distracted scrolling through player stats – that new Chivas striker ain’t delivering at all. Made a mental note to roast him in next week’s post.
Nearly screwed up when copying numbers to my spreadsheet. Forgot América had that penalty deduction last month. Thank god I caught that before publishing. Ended up changing:
América’s total points: 25
Position: 2nd
Finished just before lunch. Honestly this took way longer than expected with all the double-checking. Next time I’m doing this after lunch when my brain actually works. But hey – least now we know where things stand after week 14.
