How I Actually Grabbed the Chelsea vs Servette Lineups
So, like, honestly? I nearly missed this. Was flicking through my phone this morning, half asleep, scrolling the usual footy news apps trying to wake my brain up with coffee fumes. Then boom, flashing headline about Chelsea’s lineup against Servette tonight popped up. Instant alertness kicked in.
My first thought wasn’t even about the players, it was “Did it leak early?”. I automatically tapped refresh on the app maybe five times. Nope, official press release, confirmed source. Okay, this is happening.
Right, focus. I started scanning:
- Sanchez – No surprises. He’s solid lately.
- Colwill back – Saw that coming, needed him.
- Palmer starting – Oh! New kid’s getting his chance? Seriously?

My fingers were flying trying to compare it to the supposed prediction XI some fan page posted yesterday. Got like half right? Nah, their version had Enzo benched, which obviously wasn’t happening. Real life isn’t fan fiction.
Honestly? Seeing Palmer actually starting made me spill some coffee. Kid’s barely settled in and he’s thrown into the deep end. Took a screenshot right away to save it – you know, before some ‘ITK’ tries rewriting history later saying they knew all along. Then, had to actually check Servette’s lineup too. Because why publish one without the other? That feels cheap. Found it buried further down the article. Stekelenburg in goal? Knew that old dog was still playing somewhere!
Cross-referenced it all with the club’s official social feeds just in case the app was messing with me. Two screens, side by side, like some over-caffeinated detective. Twitter confirmations poured in fast, felt good knowing it was legit and not some messed-up dream.
Ended up staring at both lists for ages, imagining formations in my head. Gallagher & Enzo together… deep? Or pushing up? Jackson holding it alone up top? My brain started hurting. Had to shut the laptop and walk away. Needed lunch to process it. Chelsea’s team sheet looks strong on paper, just gotta hope it clicks tonight. Servette feels… organized but maybe lacking that extra spark? Total value difference must be wild.
Anyway, yeah, that’s literally how my morning went down finding and digesting those teams. Now, who wants to bet me Palmer gets an assist?
