My Quest to Find Women’s Football Standings
Just woke up this morning craving football stats like coffee. Thought to myself, man I really want to know how Barcelona and Man City women are doing in their leagues right now. Grabbed my phone still half asleep.
Opened Google and typed “barcelona feminí standings.” First results were news articles from three months ago – useless! Changed search to “women’s football current tables.” Got some gambling sites and tournament brackets. Why’s this so damn hard?
Remembered the leagues have official sites. Went to Liga F’s page first – all Spanish, and my Spanish sucks. But numbers are universal! Scrolled down… bam! Barcelona sitting pretty at #1 with 60 points. Of course they are.
Then switched to FA Women’s Super League site. That bloody page took ages to load the table. Kept tapping my foot waiting. Finally saw Man City Women at 4th position with 40 points. Not bad but not great either.
Wrote both positions in my notes app:
- Barcelona – Top of Liga F
- Man City – Fourth in WSL
Got distracted when my dog started barking at the mailman. Lost my train of thought completely. After dealing with that chaos, checked my notes again thinking “did I get this right?” Went back to double-check. Yep, same numbers.
Why do I care? Last year I promised my niece I’d follow women’s football with her. Didn’t realize it’d mean becoming a detective just to find simple standings! What a headache. But at least now I can tell her Barça’s crushing it while City’s fighting for CL spots.
Honestly expected both to be higher. Kinda disappointed in City’s position honestly. Anyway, saved screenshots just in case she asks for proof later. Job done before breakfast.
