Brighton suffer double defeat after defeat to Nottingham Forest
Brighton not only lost to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup quarter-finals, but also received the tragic news that Georginio Wijnaldum had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.
George Nutter was rushed to hospital after Brighton’s FA Cup quarter-final defeat by Nottingham Forest. The 22-year-old looked a little tearful as he was forced off on 75 minutes with the score still 0-0 at the American Express Stadium.

Rutter fell and appeared to have sprained his ankle. Brajan Gruda replaced Rutter. He was able to walk off the pitch under his own steam with the help of the medical team. However, after the game, exclusive photos obtained by The Sun showed Rutter being taken to an ambulance outside the stadium. He also had to wear protective shoes on his right foot.
Brighton manager Fabian Hrelzel told reporters: “He may need a scan. I can’t say anything more right now, I’m also waiting to see what happens.”
Brighton and Nottingham Forest drew 0-0 after 120 minutes in the FA Cup quarterfinals. Nuno Santo’s team won 4-3 on penalties to advance to the semifinals. This is the first time in 34 years that a London team has reached the FA Cup semifinals.
Larter is Brighton’s record signing, joining for £40 million last summer. The German has scored six goals in the last 12 games and eight goals in 32 games this season.
