Okay so yesterday I was trying to get the starting lineups for that FC Copenhagen vs. Chelsea game on my phone, right? Just wanted to see who was playing before I watched the highlights later. Figured it should be easy peasy.
Started like I always do: opened up that big sports app everyone uses. Typed in “FC Copenhagen Chelsea”. First thing went wrong – a bunch of news articles popped up about the next game, not the one I wanted! Old news! Scrolled down, down, down… finally saw a section called “Lineups” and tapped it.
Then, confusion hit. The app showed this:
- Copenhagen names looked okay: Elyounoussi, Claesson, familiar faces.
- Chelsea side? Names I barely recognized! Where was Palmer? Silva? Felt completely off. Like looking at a different team sheet.
Thought maybe I clicked the wrong match. Went back, double-checked – nope, it clearly said “UEFA Champions League” and the date from last week. So why was the Chelsea lineup looking so weird?
Got frustrated. Closed the app. Tried the browser instead. Searched “Copenhagen Chelsea lineup confirmed”. Found a different site. This one showed something else:
- A different keeper for Chelsea than I remember seeing!
- Some names matched the app, others didn’t.
Now I was getting annoyed. Two sources, two different Chelsea teams? Seriously? Which one was it? Ended up pulling up the actual UEFA website. That felt like the source of truth, right?
Clicked through their match centre. Found the game. Finally saw the proper lineup – and guess what? My phone app had screwed up. It must have shown me predicted lineups or maybe just plain messed up the data feed. The browser site wasn’t much better. Ended up comparing them to the UEFA list to figure out who actually played:
- Copenhagen: Grabara, Diks, Vavro, McKenna, Jelert, Lerager, Falk, Goncalves, Elyounoussi, Larsson, Claesson.
- Chelsea: Petrovic, Cucurella, Colwill, Disasi, Gusto, Caicedo, Fernandez, Gallagher, Mudryk, Palmer, Sterling.
Why did it take digging through three sources just to get a piece of info that should be simple? Total time wasted: like 15 minutes clicking around and getting irritated. The app I pay for (!) let me down, the free website wasn’t reliable. Happens way too often these days. Ended up watching the highlights mostly mad about how dumb the lineup info hunt was. Fix your feeds, people!
