So yesterday I finally got around to watching that Barcelona vs Osasuna game replay. Kept seeing buzz about it, figured I should see how it played out myself. Practice time.
Getting Set Up
First thing – dug out my laptop charger. Battery was low, didn’t wanna risk it dying mid-game. Plugged it in, grabbed some water, settled into the couch. Wifi was acting slow earlier, so did a quick router reboot. Can’t deal with buffering right? Fired up the streaming site after that. Annoying pop-up tried to get me to sign up for something. Just hit the tiny X to close it.
Took a second to find the full match replay. Some sites only show highlights. Not useful. Scrolled past the ads on the side banner until I spotted the 90-minute version. Perfect. Clicked play. Volume was way too low. Turned it up almost full blast.
Watching and Noting
Kicked off, Barca had most of the ball early on. Nice passing, you know? Felt like they were in control. Then around the 25th minute – big disconnect. My phone lit up with a stupid game notification right when Lewandowski was about to shoot. Totally broke focus. Paused it, chucked the phone face down on the other couch cushion. Unbelievable timing.
Restarted. Osasuna was just parking the bus, all ten guys behind the ball. Barcelona trying to work it through the middle. Messi isn’t walking through that door, you feel me? Felt frustrating to watch. Wrote down a few things:
- Xavi subbed Ferran Torres around 65 minutes, didn’t get it. Kid was running hard.
- Osasuna keeper made like three ridiculous saves late on.
- Ref seemed hesitant? Couple soft fouls both ways, nothing game changing though.
Time wasting from Osasuna got bad near the end. Every throw-in took ages. Keeper taking slow walks to pick up the ball. Classic stuff. Annoying but smart.
That Ending Though
Last ten minutes? Pure chaos. Barcelona pushing everyone forward. Ter Stegen came up for a corner. Felt like 2017 or something wild. Osasuna broke away! Just hoofed it clear… landed near one of their forwards. Sprint toward our empty net. Heart in my throat! Ter Stegen scrambling back. Shot went just wide. Like INCHES. Couldn’t believe it. Whole stadium was losing it.
Then – final whistle. Osasuna wins one-nil. Barcelona players just collapsed. Heads down. Coach looked furious. Watched the replay of the Osasuna goal again – simple counterattack after we lost the ball cheaply in midfield. Oof.
Wrapping Up the Practice
Closed the browser, unplugged the laptop. Thought about how predictable the whole thing felt. Team with less quality hangs deep, scores on a break, holds on. Practically a textbook example. Went to grab coffee. Friend Dave texted asking if I saw the game. Wrote back, “Yup. Painful. Predictable pain.” Dave replies, “Yep. Still bummed we lost.”
Lost WE? We? Dave lives in Leeds! Man’s never set foot in Catalonia! This dude acting like he’s from La Masia! Forgot to be mature about it. Sent him, “Bro you support Leeds! Sit down!” Felt good. Sometimes you need pointless venting after seeing your team lose. Practice complete. On to the next.
