Alright so here’s how I went down the Tottenham manager rabbit hole yesterday afternoon. Grabbed my laptop with cold coffee sitting next to me, honestly just wondering “Who’s actually been running the show at Spurs for this long?” Knew the basic names but wanted the full list, y’know?
Where I Started
Just pulled up Wikipedia first – obvious choice. Typed in “Tottenham Hotspur manager” and bam. Saw that Thomas Frank guy is their current boss. Felt surprised seeing his name so recent, but hey, 2025 stuff. Scrolled down… way down. Lists startin’ from like the 1800s! Seriously old. Names like Frank Brettell? Never heard of ‘im. Started jotting down notes.
Digging Deeper & Famous Ones
Realized I needed more than just names. Wanted the important bosses. Kept reading. Bill Nicholson? Yeah, kept popping up. Like the guy apparently. Built ’em up ages ago. Then my brain went “Burkinshaw!” Remembered folks talkin’ ’bout him winning stuff ages back. Scanned further. Arsène Wenger managing Spurs?! Nah, false alarm, nearly choked on my coffee – that was just early talk before Arsenal got ‘im. Phew.
Then hit the modern section. Jol was there, the tall fella. Redknapp – yeah, ‘Arry! Big personality. Pochettino, everyone loved Poch. Felt a pang rememberin’ him leaving. Stared at the screen. “Conte,” muttered. Saw the dates. Felt short. Why do they all leave so fast? Mourinho… oh man, his time felt messy. Scroll, scroll. Nuno? Barely lasted a season. Crazy.

What I Found
Turns out they’ve had loads! Like over 30 permanent managers?! Crazy turnover sometimes. Even their famous bosses don’t stick forever. Conte dipped after a couple years? Mourinho bounced quick. Felt a pattern. Seemed less stable than other big clubs I looked at last week. Just managers comin’ and goin’. Players like Kane stick around forever, but the gaffers? Nope.
Finished feelin’ kinda tired. Thought “Why does the manager matter so much there?” Clearly changes all the time. Makes you realize how big Son and players like that must be for keepin’ it going. Whole thing feels chaotic compared to, say, Liverpool keeping Klopp forever. Spurs history ain’t boring, that’s for sure. Research done? Sorta. Still feels like pieces missing… but that’s football, eh?
