Buying the Trophy
So my mate Tom is a hardcore Arsenal supporter, right? His birthday’s coming up, and I’m scratching my head thinking what to get him. Then it hits me – why not grab a Premier League trophy replica? Perfect for his man cave.
Started hunting online for trophies. Saw some cheap plastic ones that looked like toys, but I don’t want him thinking I cheaped out. Finally found this steel version with decent weight. Clicked “buy now” without thinking twice. Shipping took longer than Amazon Prime though – like three whole weeks!
Unboxing the Thing
Package arrived looking roughed up. Freaked me out thinking it might be dented. Ripped open the bubble wrap like Christmas morning. Pulled out this shiny silver trophy with the lion on top.
- Surprise #1: Heavy bugger! Nearly dropped it grabbing with one hand
- Surprise #2: Crown jewels weren’t plastic like I feared – proper metal
- Bad bit: Found a tiny scratch on the base. Honestly though? Barely noticeable
Tom’s Reaction
Handed him the box wrapped in newspaper (forgot proper wrapping paper). Saw his face go full confused when he lifted it. Then his eyes popped when he tore off the paper.
Guy started yelling like he won actual Premier League! Said he’d put it next to his signed Thierry Henry jersey. Even his missus texted me later saying he wouldn’t shut up about it.
Final thoughts? Best reaction I’ve ever gotten for a gift. Price was decent for something that looks expensive. And that plastic crown logo on top?
Nah mate – turns out it was metal after all.
