Premier League Teams Map: How to Find Your Club Location Easily

Alright so yesterday I had this dumb idea after arguing with mates at the pub. We couldn’t agree on where half the Premier League teams actually play. Like, sure, everyone knows Man United is in Manchester… but what part? East? North? Absolute mess trying to explain it. So I figured, why not just make a simple map?

Wrestling with the Basic Idea

First thing I did was grab my laptop right there at the pub table. Bit sticky, mind you. Opened up a random mapping website – no need for fancy names. Thought it would be dead easy: type team name, get pin on map. Yeah… nah. Not even close.

Tried just typing “Anfield“. Boom. Showed me a random street in London called Anfield Road or something. Useless. Same thing happened with “Stamford Bridge“. Led me to a pub in Yorkshire. Total rubbish.

Figuring Out the Coords Headache

Realised I needed the exact latitude and longitude numbers. How do normal people even find these? Bit annoying. Started googling like mad:

  • Old Trafford exact coordinates
  • Emirates Stadium lat long
  • Vitality Stadium Bournemouth location numbers

Found some fan forums talking about it. Copied numbers down like crazy, finger tapping screen hard enough to crack it. Took ages. Loads of conflicting info too. People arguing if Spurs’ ground was one set of coords or another. Nearly gave up right there.

Plotting the Dots (Slowly)

Opened the map maker tool back up. Found the bit where you manually add points using coords. Tiny little form. Typing 51.5560, -0.1083 for Arsenal felt like doing rocket science. Made a typo first go – landed the dot in France. Got it wrong way round and put Chelsea near Watford somehow. Deep breaths.

Made a list of all 20 teams. Clicked “Add Point“… twenty bloody times. Painstaking. Needed colours too. Had to make London clubs one colour, Manchester another, Midlands lot different again. Spent ages just messing with colour picker.

The Final Map (And Why It’s Flawed)

Hit “Save” eventually. Stared at the map. Okay, it works! Brighton near the coast, Newcastle way up north, Palace kinda south London. Looks legit.

But here’s the truth bomb: It’s a total faff if you just fancy a quick look. Most fans won’t bother messing with coords! And forget updating it when teams drop down or come up – I ain’t doing this every summer.

Still, kinda satisfying seeing all 20 dots sitting there. Proves you can do it, even if it’s a bit rubbish in the end. Saved the map as “PremShamblesMap1“. Job done. Probably won’t do it again though!
